Registration Now Available for 1MISSION BUILD, November 2017

Have you been wishing you could do something that really ‘makes a difference’ in someone’s life? Do you want to experience making that difference and actually seeing the results??

The answer for you just may be joining a 1MISSION Build Team, traveling to Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point) and building a home in 2 1/2 days.

The 1MISSION BUILD Team is recruiting new members to join the expedition to Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico, November 16-19, 2017. The Team will depart Fountain Hills about noon on Thursday, November 16 and return Sunday evening, November 19. While in Puerto Penasco, they will participate with a group of about 20  in building a new home with a family who has earned it by helping other families build their homes.

1MISSION has sponsored the build of over 500 homes in the past decade. Locations include Puerto Penasco, Nicaragua and El Salvador. The 11×24′ homes go up in two and a half days. That’s right! One of the teary-eyed joys of this trip is handing the keys to the family at noon on Sunday.

Those considering this trip will need the following

  • United States passport
  • $260 registration fee (scholarships are available)
  • $15 Bunkhouse fee (where you sleep)
  • a willingness to face the experience of a lifetime, and say ‘Yes!’

Meals are provided with the exception of Thursday evening when the group typically goes into town to have the famous chicken dinners at Pollo Lucas. A Fiesta is held on Saturday night at Base Camp in which the family receiving their new home is invited, as well as other families enrolled in the program.

1MISSION Base Camp is located about eight miles north of Puerto Penasco. It is a renovated RV park, with about 30 RV sites still operational. Transportation is provided to and from Camp each day.

Once registered, participants will receive all the information they need to enjoy this highly rewarding experience. For further information and answers to your questions, contact Sharon Shaw Elrod–
