Youth Director

We're in the process of seeking candidates for interviews for a new Youth Director. Check out the general Job Description below:

Goal:

The goal of the Youth Director is to maintain a relationship with the Youth grades 5-12 and their families.  Create and maintain programs that will continue their Christian journey.

 

Objectives:

Enhance continued Christian journey for The Fountains Youth.

Create opportunities for Youth to serve their church, community, and world.

Provide educational opportunities for Youth.

Participate in ongoing education as it relates to the position of Youth Director.

Participate in the workings of the church and the interfaith community.

Maintain communications with Youth and their family.

 

Requirements:

Nurture an effective Youth Ministry.

Prepare curriculum for Youth gatherings.

Recruit, train and maintain volunteer Youth counselors.

Organize and implement Youth Group activities and events.

Facilitate Confirmation classes.

Encourage Youth to participate in District and Conference activities.

 

Attend Sunday Worship

Attend weekly Staff meeting

Attend monthly Church Council meetings or send a report

Provide information and monitor the weekly bulletin for Youth

Attend church activities to promote fellowship and relationships that will benefit the Youth Program

 

Correspond with Youth and their families by cards, phone calls, and email

Maintain Youth section of church website when established

Provide for the Youth page of the Streams newsletter

Visit Youth at the hospital or home when needed

Attend individual Youth sporting events, art exhibits, plays, etc. to build relationships

Available to Youth for counseling or referrals

Contact new Youth in the church

Communicate scholarship information from the Conference to Youth and their families

 

Coordinate service opportunities to the church, community, and world for Youth

Help Youth to find their place in the bigger church

Participate in interfaith programs for Youth

Provide occasional educational programs on social principles as it relates to Christians for Youth, their families and church volunteers

 

Use the Interfaith Resource Center

Attend at least three ongoing training opportunities per year
